This charming seaside community in Newport Beach, California is one of the wealthiest in Orange County and is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and luxury amenities. It has the perfect location, nestled along the Southern California coast, less than 50 miles from Los Angeles, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Irvine, and other flourishing areas. The community has ocean access, making it a nature lover’s paradise. Corona del Mar has a small-town feel but is only minutes from the shopping and dining of the Newport Coast and Balboa Peninsula.
The architecture in Corona del Mar is varied and interesting. While the buildings in the city are relatively modern, there are some older homes in the area. The homes in Corona del Mar are a combination of old California ranch style and modern architecture. Local Lifestyle
Located on the Southern California coast, just South of Newport Beach, Corona del Mar is a picturesque seaside community. Set among a dramatic collection of coastal bluffs, the community is home to a small-town feel and walkable experiences. Corona del Mar is home to many small businesses and is known for its mild climate and beautiful beaches. Corona del Mar’s reputation as a premier vacation and residential destination is driven by its proximity to amazing surfing sites, as well as world-class golf courses.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
There are many stores to browse, from small boutiques to large upscale department stores. The community also has some of the best restaurants in Orange County, with the downtown village of Corona del Mar being the hub for walkable shops and eateries.
Five Crowns is a luxury steakhouse with a warm atmosphere inspired by old English inns. Side Door is an English gastropub that operates within Five Crowns and serves small plates for sharing paired with wine, beer, and spirits. Rose Bakery Café is a cute community nook with indoor and outdoor seating that serves sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and more. Bandera is an intimate fine dining experience that serves southwest-style dishes. Zinc Café & Market is a modern chic eatery and a nice spot to relax and recharge.
Things to Do
There are many things to do in Corona del Mar. Whether you want to go shopping, relax by the beach, or enjoy the outdoor activities, there is something for everyone. The community offers a great range of activities, like beaches, parks, trails for hikers, museums, and art galleries.
China Cove Beach is a hidden gem with sandy beaches and volleyball posts. The beach was the site of the old China House, which was demolished and now holds the William G. Kerckhoff Marine Laboratory. Lookout Point is a scenic spot with a view of Pirate’s Cove and Balboa Peninsula. Corona del Mar State Beach is a popular gathering place for swimming, surfing, and diving. It has beautiful views and a half-mile of sandy beach for walking, lounging, or shell collecting.
Corona del Mar also has many annual events and traditions, like the Christmas Walk. This annual walk is a community event with vendors, live entertainment, activities, fake snow, and photos with Santa.
Schools
Newport-Mesa Unified School District serves more than 19,000 students in 32 schools from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Corona del Mar. The district strives to equip students with the knowledge and skills to have successful personal and educational careers.
